Lazlo kinda likes it here.

Lazlo gets helped into the truck.
They were such good travel dogs.

I was holding a minimum of 45 pounds of dog for over 400 miles. DVT alert!
But we're here now and it was all worth it.

I got off the train tonight and thought, That smells like Lazlo.
I look around ...
and see two street kids and their pit bull.
So, I think this means he needs a bath.
Especially since we're getting family pictures taken this weekend.

Mia has this little schtick she does when we head home from our walks. She used to do it infrequently, randomly, but now she does it more often. Maybe it has something to do with trying to get rid of her winter coat (I just realized)... Anyway, she'll stop, and just lay down. Sidewalk, grass, wherever. Just resting. She flops onto her side. Lays there a minute. And then starts to squirm on her back like this for a minute or two. She especially loves if you scratch her stomach, too. It makes me laugh every time.

One year ago tomorrow (the 18th) we added Mia to our family.
Last week we finally watched Dark Water Rising and it was heartbreaking. Most of the dogs rescued in New Orleans after the hurricanes were pit bulls and many of them were apparently fighters. If you think you can watch it, bring the Kleenex®. Or use your sleeves like I did.
(Organizations like Animal Rescue New Orleans (where Mia was originally brought when she was rescued) still need donations of time and money to continue to help residents' pets and the animals that were abandoned. From their site: "Last month we incurred over $50,000 in veterinary bills because of the large number of animals we serviced. ")
Lazlo is a happier dog now that he has a canine playmate and we've gained a billion times of love. Mia the licker, likes to lick you all day every day. Look…
